About S & S Slides^® Inc.

It has been said that "necessity is the mother of invention." This was the case in January of 1991 when a struggling mine operator in Western Pennsylvania needed to purchase a "user friendly" continuous haulage conveyor system for a minus 36 inch coal seam. It needed to be multi-purpose, versatile, light weight, indestructible, efficient and equally important - "economical."

The operator met with his mine foreman and a fabricator friend and after many hours of brainstorming and several "pencil sketches" they devised the answer. The product of their combined efforts was the birth of S & S Slides^® Inc. Since then S & S Slides^® has expanded their products to address applications in all coal seam heights, all continuous haulage systems and various "non-mining" applications. S & S Slides^® has expanded their products and conveyor systems from Pennsylvania into other major coal producing areas. As a tribute to the "uniqueness" of the design and application of the S & S products they have four U.S. Patents and one Patent Pending.
